Dr. Melanie Masaki, O.D. is a local girl, born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. She attended Moanalua High School where she was active in the marching band and student government. She went on to receive her undergraduate degree from the University of Washington (Go Huskies!) and Doctorate of Optometry degree from Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon.

Dr. Masaki has been with the McMann Eye Institute since 2010. Prior to that, she spent 10 years in private optometric and ophthalmology practices.

She has extensive experience in family eye care, including pediatrics and geriatrics. She performs diabetic exams and is skilled in refractive and cataract surgery co-management. Dr. Masaki also specializes in fitting contact lenses, including soft torics and bifocals, gas permeable and the new scleral lenses.

Licensed in the State of Hawaii, her training and experience allow her to diagnose, treat and manage all types of eye conditions. She has received the Honolulu Advertiser's "Best of the Best" Optometrist award a number of times for her dedication to her patients and profession. Professional memberships include the American Optometric Association (AOA) and the Hawaii Optometric Association (HOA).

Dr. Masaki spends her time volunteering at vision screenings for local elementary schools and organizations such as Special Olympics Hawaii. She also serves as team mom for her son's baseball and daughter's soccer teams.

She is currently working to improve her golf game and will be looking for her 3rd Royal Flush on her next trip to Vegas!
