Dr. Melanie Masaki, O.D.
   Optometrist
 

A native of Hawaii, Dr. Melanie Masaki graduated from Moanalua High School.  She went on to receive her undergraduate degree from the University of Washington (go Huskies!) and Doctorate of Optometry from Pacific University in Oregon.

Prior to working at the McMann Eye Institute, Dr. Masaki spent 10 years in both a private optometry and ophthalmology practice.  She has extensive experience in family eye care, including pediatric exams, pathology, and refractive surgery co-management.  She is also experienced in fitting soft contact lenses (torics, multifocals) and rigid gas permeable lenses.

Licensed in the state of Hawaii, Dr. Masaki’s training and experience allow her to diagnose, treat, and manage all types of eye conditions.  She has received the Honolulu Advertiser “Best of the Best” Optometrist award twice for her dedication to her patients and her profession.

Professional memberships include the American Optometric Association and the Hawaii Optometric Association.  She volunteers her time providing vision screenings at local elementary schools with the Lions Club, helps at “Get Focused” sports screenings and at the Special Olympics Hawaii vision screenings.

During her free time, she enjoys going to the beach and playing on the Wii with her husband and 2 children.  She plays basketball and golf, and takes the occasional trip to Las Vegas where she hits the craps tables.
